In these roles, Michelle will help lead U.S. engagement in international standards

discussions that shape the future of health informatics. The U.S. TAG to ISO/TC 215 represents national interests in health information technology and health informatics standards, while ISO/TC 215 focuses on standardization that supports the capture, interchange, and use of health-related data, information, and knowledge across the health system.

Michelle’s appointment reflects her longstanding leadership in connected medical device standards and the evolving industry landscape. Throughout her 15-year career, she has worked at the intersection of innovation, patient safety, and security, helping manufacturers, healthcare organizations, and industry stakeholders navigate increasingly complex risks and requirements. This new appointment is in addition to her role as convener of ISO’s Technical Committee for Health Informatics WG4 (Working Group for Security, Safety and Privacy), member of JWG7 (Safe, effective and secure health software and health IT systems, including those incorporating medical devices), and project lead for ISO 81001-5-2.
